UNITED WAY 2-1-1 provides free information and referrals to health and human services, government agencies, and community based organizations in Bernalillo, Torrance, Valencia and Sandoval counties. United Way 2-1-1 is a comprehensive source for information, better connecting our community and increasing self-sufficiency. By providing appropriate referrals to available human services, teachers, individuals, children and families are able to access resources within our community.

National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is one of 11 agencies that compose the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The NCI, established under the National Cancer Institute Act of 1937, is the Federal Government's principal agency for cancer research and training. The National Cancer Act of 1971 broadened the scope and responsibilities of the NCI and created the National Cancer Program. Over the years, legislative amendments have maintained the NCI authorities and responsibilities and added new information dissemination mandates as well as a requirement to assess the incorporation of state-of-the-art cancer treatments into clinical practice.

National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship

The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship is the oldest survivor-led cancer advocacy organization in the country, advocating for quality cancer care for all Americans and empowering cancer survivors. NCCS believes in evidence-based advocacy for systemic changes at the federal level in how the nation researches, regulates, finances, and delivers quality cancer care. NCCS organizes Cancer Advocacy Now!™, a legislative advocacy network that engages constituents across the country in federal cancer-related issues. Patient education is also a priority for NCCS. OncoLink was founded in 1994 by Penn cancer specialists with a mission to help cancer patients, families, health care professionals and the general public get accurate cancer-related information at no charge. Recent changes have been made to OncoLink to update the look and feel of our site.
